A change driver is the summarized problem definition of the client. A change drivers is the primary cause for a client to change.

In the phase Focus And Direction, Activity: 1.3 - Consolidate And Validate Input , Task: 1.3.2 - Validate And Consolidate Input an inventory of the change drivers will be found. The process of prioritizing/re-evaluating is done by the client . The client indicates what change drivers are most important. This process can be supported by the Change Consultant by a specific focus-interview with the client. There are some templates available for setting up and executing such an interview. Keep in mind that the re-evaluating of the change drivers is a subjective process. Some of the clients may find some change drivers more important than others and the preference of one or more stakeholders may change during the project.
